Summary
Trekking XXL 110 is unique because this colorway along with several others has a tweedy striping presence
with NO exact repeats. It was the tweed-look that first caught my eye, but I assumed it would repeat.
An average pair of socks requires one skein.
My Impressions
This yarn was very soft to the touch. It knit up quickly and effortlessly. The pattern didn't repeat exactly but colors blended into each other with a very pleasant effect. This kept the knitting interesting and I believe added to my speed of the overall sock knitting.
The Knitting Experience
US # 0 - 2.5 (2 - 3mm) was recommended. I chose to use US # 1 dpn's and was pleased with the result. The yarn was soft to the touch and
pleasant to knit with....it knitted up quickly and effortlessly. No
snagging, no twisting, and no knots. Because there were no repeats, I found myself knitting for longer periods just to see what colorway was next.
The yarn can be pulled from either the center of the skein or the outside of the skein. Because there is no exact repeat, its truly not necessary to match, however....if this makes you nuts...this may not be the yarn for you.
I used the pattern Jaywalker by Grumperina.
Washability
Machine washable. Recommend Gentle cycle with cold water and Line dry. I have found the socks to soften with washing. Size remained the same and the socks bounced back. Any of my own knitting flaws seemed to disappear. They're lovely.
Wearability
The wool/nylon blend means there is no need to reinforce either the heels or toes. After many wearings, they have not shown any signs of wear.
Seem durable with no pilling. Very soft on the feet ... no scratchiness and non-irritating to the bottom of the feet.
Holds elasticity over time and is comfortable to wear with shoes.
